Zero Leakage Mud Valves

Series 55

BNW series 55 Mud Valves are custom designed & fabricated stainless steel, resilient seated, zero leakage tank drain valves.

  • Features:

  • Heavy duty fabricated stainless steel welded construction
  • Replaceable resilient seat raised away from the body flange to eliminate entrapment of solids and debris in the seat area enabling tight shutoff
  • Stainless steel ACME thread stems and bronze lift nuts for operation in submerged applications without binding
  • Convex (dish shaped) stainless steel disc seats on the inside edge of the seat ring pushing debris aside as it seats to ensure zero leakage. The disc to shaft connection allows self-alignment movement of the disc so it centers itself in the seat ring without allowing rotation of the disc against the seat – in rising stem valves this is achieved by the pivoted disc / stem connection while non-rising stem valves utilize anti-rotation pins on the disc and stop bars on the frame to prevent disc rotation in the seat

Fabrication

Our custom built mud valves are fabricated stainless steel, type 304 or 316, in rising or non-rising construction with neoprene or EPDM resilient seats. Stems are ACME threaded stainless steel and lift nuts are bronze. Sizes range from 75mm to 750mm diameter.

Mounting:

Series 55 Mud Valves are flanged for mounting directly to concrete or to mating flanges on the drain piping. Operation is either manual by means of 50mm nut or pedestal mounted handwheel with or without gear or motorized by electric actuator.

Applications:

Mud valves are used as drain valves in tanks, chambers, and channels for equipment maintenance or repair, and in containment structures for cleanup of overflows and spills.
